World's Largest Model Airport on Display

The world's largest model airport has opened at Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, Germany. Called Knuffingen Airport, it's based on Hamburg's airport. The display cost $5 million and took six years to build.

Knuffingen Airport features 40 aircraft that take off, land and taxi, with jetways that pull up to the planes and 90 moving ground vehicles. Lighting cycles from day to night. The aircraft include planes from KLM, Air France, TUI, Emirates and Germany’s Lufthansa and Airberlin.
