New Mexico Launches Billy the Kid Promotion

In an attempt to boost tourism in New Mexico, Governor Susana Martinez has put $10,000 on the head of famous outlaw Billy the Kid.

The “Catch the Kid” promotion is being put on by the New Mexico Department of Tourism. The event is described as a statewide treasure hunt of sorts and will include travel deals, vacation giveaways, discounts on food and merchandise and prizes.

There will be clues that can be found in ten cities throughout the state. The first person to figure out where the Kid is hiding and when he will be arrested will win $10,000. The hunt will last ten days.

Governor Martinez said the money to fund the game came from private donations.
