Orlando Sentinal: The upcoming release of “Water For Elephants,” starring Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson, will bring the golden age of the circus to the big screen. That’s a marketing opportunity for Sarasota County, the “Home of the American Circus” for its longtime association with the Ringling Bros. outfit.
Sarasota County is celebrating the film with travel packages that allow visitors to experience the area’s rich circus heritage. The Ringling Brothers circus kept their winter headquarters in Sarasota County from 1927 to 1992, and the area offers a variety of circus-related attractions including:
• The Ringling Museum, home of the world’s largest miniature circus.
• Cà d’Zan, the grand Mediterranean revival estate that was John and Mable Ringling’s winter home.
• Legendary circus performer Tito Gaona’s trapeze school.
• Circus Sarasota, with performances throughout February.
• The Sailor Circus, a youth circus with performances in April and December. Former circus performers serve as coaches.

I was just in Botswana in Africa. I wanted to learn something about the world. I just feel really ignorant whenever I leave the country. I don't know a lot of stuff, and I really want to. I figure that traveling is a good way to start if you want knowledge. Like, if you don't know something about a country, then go and check it out. That's what I did.
